Triathlete
“I am a 61-year-old triathlete. I have been an endurance athlete for more than 30 years. These days I train to be fit more than train to race. I am an executive, so this limits my racing, but I still train as though I am going to race as training is key to stress management and mental health. Two years ago, I had a very serious bike accident and broke multiple bones on my right side, including my pelvis. Ten months after my accident I competed in a Half Ironman. While I was “back” I really felt I needed more. I knew I still had significant weakness on my right side that was not getting better with regular training from my online coaching/club. This is where Stacy came in. I’ve known Stacy as a member of the Cleveland Triathlon Club for several years and knew she coached privately. For about a year Stacy has been my strength coach – she comes to my home once a week and makes sure I am working to get stronger and fitter! If you are considering getting stronger, I highly recommend Stacy as a coach who pushes you but also listens and adjusts as needed.”

Functional Fitness
“I met Coach Rhea about two years ago through a family connection. I am a neurosurgeon who retired eight years ago. I participated in many athletic sports, all of which required training that included weight lifting as well as running. After I retired, I wanted to get more involved with exercise and started training with full-time trainers. As time went on, I looked for someone who understood the physiology of older athletes, as well as nutrition. I am in my early 80s and I was looking for someone to help me maintain my muscle strength, flexibility, stamina and endurance. Coach Rhea is an expert in endurance, stamina, and strength. She also is well aware of nutritional status for older individuals as well as understanding how to keep them in excellent shape. During my years with her, I can say that this has been done without problems. I have the usual problems of older athletes, and she knows how to get me through the ups and downs of the pains associated with the trauma of playing intercollegiate contact sports. I feel very much stronger and I’m able to exercise with all types of equipment and modalities. My strength and stamina has improved dramatically and I have lost 12 pounds. I am very happy with my results“

“Stacy Rhea is an exceptional personal trainer who has profoundly impacted my fitness journey, specifically preparing me for adventure races and long-duration events. I began working with Stacy approximately 2 years ago, seeking guidance for my unique challenges as a mature athlete. Her meticulous and individualized approach, emphasizing functional strength training, has been transformative. Stacy’s expertise in tailoring workouts to my specific goals, strengths, and limitations has pushed my boundaries and enhanced muscle groups critical for my pursuits. Her motivational coaching style, infectious dedication, and adaptability make each session empowering. Under Stacy’s guidance, I’ve achieved significant gains in strength, endurance, and overall fitness while learning the importance of injury prevention and sustainable training practices. I wholeheartedly recommend Stacy to anyone seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate personal trainer specializing in functional strength training across all ages. Her blend of professionalism and personal connection makes every session enjoyable and productive.“

Pickelball, Triathlon
“For years, lap swimming has been my refuge, fostering family connections at our local pool. Turning 40 marked a transformative period, as I embraced swimming laps and achieved the goal of covering 150 miles in a single summer. I became a certified lifeguard and water safety instructor, working at the JCC, Beachwood, Ohio, while my children were in elementary school. Entering my 50s, a spa week jump started my commitment to personal fitness. However, the challenges of the 2020 pandemic took a toll, leading to a loss of motivation and a more sedentary lifestyle. Joining a fitness facility in May 2020 was a step toward change. Towards the end of 2021, contemplating a triathlon for my 60th birthday, I encountered Stacy Rhea. Despite past reservations due to knee injuries, Stacy’s compassionate approach motivated me to participate in an indoor triathlon in January 2022. I began personal training with Stacy, who tailored sessions to my fitness level, pushing me while respecting my limitations. In January 2022, I proudly completed the indoor triathlon. By May 2022, a week before turning 60, I conquered the Upper Dublin Triathlon. August 2022 saw me winning the TriCle Rock Roll Run race in the women 60–64 division. A fall interruption in my fitness routine did not deter me; in January 2023, playing pickleball in SW Florida marked a turning point. Resuming personal training with Stacy and participating in Saturday morning pickleball leagues, I found renewed motivation. Ending the year, I recognize that fitness and motivation are a lifelong journey. Grateful for the continued support I have received from Stacy Rhea. I look forward to maintaining this positive trajectory into the new year. To start the New Year off, I signed up for a February indoor triathlon.”

Runner
“I have been an on-again, off-again runner my entire life. I began training with Stacy six months ago and for the first time at 48, I am truly enjoying my long runs. Stacy taught me to slow down and train by heart rate to ensure I am building my aerobic endurance and not over training. She also added functional strength and mobility to my weekly routine, which has resolved my hip and knee issues.”
